I'm only 3 months away from my wedding day and you would think I would be pulling my curls out, but guess what, I'm not stressed! Do you want to feel as great as I do when the countdown to your big day gets closer? Here are some tips that have helped me enjoy the process of planning a wedding!

When picking your venue you have to decide what's best for you, your wallet and what amenities you require. If you're not getting married in a church, temple or cathedral,  you can find places that will offer a space to have your ceremony as well as your reception. They may also have vendors for you to choose from that can work with you to plan what you need in the space provided. We picked a place that had everything on site, including a hotel, catering and restaurant.  A one stop shop! If you're invited to the wedding then you're invited to the reception. If our guests get too tipsy, not to worry, they can just reserve a room right upstairs for the night. Plus, there was no way I was going to be running around from one spot to another. Not in my dress!  Where you decide to get married will reflect your attire and overall feel of your wedding. Remember, the ceremony is a demonstration of your love for one another and we love convenience.

If your parents have a few people they want to invite to your wedding, then by all means let them, but remember this is YOUR wedding and you want to have a good time! Making your list can be tricky. It can get really big, really fast and that can get costly (which I learned). I found a easy way to figure out who should make the cut by asking myself these questions: Would you or have you called them and invited them to dinner? Does this person mean a lot to you? Would it really make a difference to YOU if they're not at your wedding?  If the answer is yes to all 3 questions, then they should be on the list. If not, believe me they will survive and so will you.

Having someone else, besides your honey, to share the responsibilities is ideal. You both will be super busy and let's face it, all this planning can be overwhelming. Don't sit there and get mad at him if he doesn't want to go over every detail with you. If he is smart, he will just let you have your way :) More importantly, you need someone else to bounce ideas off of. My twin sister, Andrea, and my mom are helping me plan everything out for the wedding. They have been keeping me on track and certain details in order.  If you don't have a family member that is organized and cray- cray like you, get a friend or a wedding planner that can help you manage all the specifics.

Picking out your dress is so exciting but can also be a huge headache!  You have to keep in mind the amount you want to spend and stick to it. You also have dreadful thoughts of your dress not fitting when it's time to walk down the aisle. I would suggest NOT trying on any dress you can't afford because that dress will be the one you fall in love with. However, there is a way you can get the look you want and still not break your bank! If you do find a dress that's too pricey, try it on at that fancy boutique and then look for it online for less. There is a site called Borrowing Magnolia where they let you borrow or buy designer wedding gowns at a decent price. You can try them on in the comforts of your own home without all the pressure to purchase. I looked at Klenfeld Bridal  BHLDN, Anthropologie's wedding collection and a boutique in Brooklyn called Pantora Bridal. I decided to get my dressed custom made from Pantora Bridal. It will be exactly what I want and it's actually in my price range. The best part is since my dress will be custom made I don't have to worry about fitting into my dress because it's made to fit my body perfectly.  I have a fitting coming up, so I will let you know how it goes!

Happy planning!
