Fun things to do during a Snowstorm

Cynthia Simpson

When winter arrives, so does the snow and at times lots of it! During a snow storm, we are confined to our homes to wait it out. To keep yourself occupied some people like to do things like rearranging their furniture, clean out closets or do the laundry. That all sound like work to me! I just want to relax and do things that don't require too much energy. Here are a few fun things you can do while waiting out a snow storm or on a day off from work.

Netflix and Chill

If you don't have Netflix, I suggest you make the investment. Netflix is doing the damn thing with their original programming and large selection of movies. Here are a few shows I suggest you watch.
Chewing Gum, Black Mirror, Doctor Foster, Stranger Things, Peaky Blinders, The Fall, Happy Valley, The Get Down

Catch up on reading

I can't say I am a huge reader, but I do love coffee table magazines like The Gentle Woman or Kinfolk. My goal this year is to read at least one book every 2-3 months. I gravitate to mostly fiction, suspense/mystery books that keep you on the edge of your seat. I've recently taken an interest in books about interior design, ceramics and space structure.  If you have any suggestions on books to read please send them my way!

Primp & Pamper

There is nothing like a fresh coat of nail polish! This gives you something to smile about while you're twiddling your fingers waiting for the time to pass by. I constantly change my nail color because 1.My manicure only lasts 3 days max because my fingers are constantly in shea butter, 2. I can no longer use gel nail polish because it RUINS my nails (No matter how much I admire the shiny finish)!

Listen to music

If you live in Brooklyn, I am sure you have a record player somewhere in your apartment. Dust that bad boy off and  play some tunes! You can also jam out to your favorite Spotify or Soundcloud playlist if you don't collect vinyl. I'm always looking for new sounds and dope artists to vibe out to. Who are you listening to now?

Play video games

My husband is a gamer with an impressive collection of video games. I not only enjoy watching him play games like Metal Gear Solid, Tomb Raider and Fallout 4, I also enjoy playing as well. The most recent game that I was totally into was INSIDE. INSIDE is a puzzle-platformer adventure video game developed and published by Playdead. You play a young boy dropped in this super spooky, dark world, surrounded by deformed lab experiments, zombies, and mad scientists whom all want to kill you. It's a game changer. Get it... cus we talking about games. :)

What do you like to do when you're stuck in the house? Send me new music suggestions, video games, books, nail polish colors that you think I should check out!

My Fall/Winter Favorites!

I have been rocking these Vans Leather Slip-ons since the summer and I love how comfortable and easy they can go with almost everything in my closet.

If you are like me and enjoy the smell of clean laundry, you will enjoy this linens, furnishing and room spray by The Laundress. Spray it on sweaters that have been put away for the summer, your bedding and even your sofa.

Looking for the perfect V neck tee shirt? Well look no further. Madewell's tees are soft, with a relaxed fit and look great with jeans.

Round shades are this seasons go to look. These are from Alter for only 20 dollars! You can't beat that.

Cuyana's tote bags are the perfect size for work, play or a holiday getaway. I never leave home without it.

Chloe is a classic perfume with a fresh smell that lasts all day. I can't get enough of this stuff.

OPI "Java Mauve-A"

OPI "Java Mauve-A"

For a natural nude look I like OPI's Java Mauve-A. It looks great against my chocolate skin and has a light pinkish tint.

Since my wedding is going to be in Blue Bell, PA I have been going back to Philly more often and it has been really relaxing! It's nice to get away from the busy streets of New York  sometimes. These pictures were taken in my backyard, which I am sure looks familiar, since this is not the first time I have posed in this scenery.  I don't know if it's because there are less tall buildings or if there is just more space, but either way, it's always sunny in Philadelphia!

This winter has been a hard one in New York but never fear, oversized scarves are here! The oversized scarf is just the right colorful layering piece to keep you warm and comfy. My friend Amari has on a vintage scarf that she got back in California.

Here are a few other scarves that I thought were on fleek. They can all be found including mine at ASOS!
